![]() If this holds its quality, it’s gonna be one of my favorite shows of all time (but from the Knots thread, people already have me tempering my expectations and knowing it’s not going to.) by Anonymous And I totally spit out my drink when she decided to tell Lance while they were cutting their wedding cake that she was pregnant, and he said “it isn’t mine,” and she responded “it is now” while shoving wedding cake in his mouth. And she is definitely a spoiled brat, but in a fun and intelligent way we just don’t get from 21st Century spoiled brats. There’s such a light but devilish aspect to Ana Alicia’s portrayal. She’s so fun and I have to respect her for sleeping with Cole and marrying Lance. She may not be as compelling as some of the other characters but there’s something mysterious about her I find appealing - you know that on the inside, she’s screaming.īut Melissa is definitely my favorite character. ![]() The episode where Tony comes back and asks Julia to leave with him, only for her to not have the courage to do it at the end was so heartbreaking. Angela is kind of just a straight up boss bitch. There is so much focus on family and tradition and legacy and it just works so well on this show.Įmma just seemed weird and random to me at the beginning but as the season went on and she started showing more spunk, I really started liking her.Īngela is an interesting one - with Alexis on Dynasty or Abby on Knots Landing, there was a certain charm to the villainess. But it’s not just that, they did such a good job setting a mood and creating an atmosphere. By the second half of season 1, they found their groove and I was completely addicted. ![]() The first half of season 1 was a little bit dull at times, but I liked the cast and characters and it had obvious potential. I just finished watching season 1 for the first time and I absolutely loved it. She could be hilariously funny sometimes when she was reacting drily to other people's craziness, but she played Angela as icy-which doesn t play well for a night-time soap/ by Anonymous Jane Wyman was very variable as the main villain. But although i really liked Lance and Melissa as characters (and they were both physically beautiful, and Ana Alicia could act even though Lorenzo Lamas was just a gorgeous stick of wood), the actors who played Chase and Maggie's children didn't have much to work with in terms of turning their characters into interesting ones. Some of the regular actors were terrific, including all the middle-aged ones (Robert Foxworth, Susan Sullivan, Abby Dalton, and Margaret Ladd). It started being about a nephew fighting with his aunt for control of a winery, but then it also became about a newspaper too. There were a lot of good things about FC, but it started as a very different kind of show when it was conceived, and it never made the transition as clearly to a full-blown night-time soap as the other ones did.
